Jay Goldberg has been teaching entrepreneurship courses since 1997. While at the Palm Beach County Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that helped small businesses succeed, he developed a uniquely structured entrepreneurship training program that combined learning with business owners creating work product that could be immediately implemented in their businesses. So in addition to learning about, for example, an elevator pitch; the entrepreneurs worked on their elevator pitches getting input, suggestions, and feedback from the instructor. That program was reviewed by Senior Management at Bank of America, who then provided grant funds so that small business owners could attend the training. Since the closing of the Palm Beach County Resource Center due to government funding drying up, Mr. Goldberg has continued to add to and improve his entrepreneurship training program and he currently teaches the whole program in two locations; and portions of the program for a nonprofit client. |
